Which one are you? If you have come up with many ideas for years and years, starting this, and starting that, dabbling in this and that and the other, then you’re an Idea Person… but you’re not a work horse.

If you enjoy getting tasks done, and generally get things done well under deadlines, in fact you thrive on deadlines, and are the volunteer of the block, doing this, doing that, and doing the other, but you never quite come up with that winning idea of your own, then you’re probably a work horse.

There are few people out there who are both Idea people and Doing people. There are certainly people who think they are all that, but usually these people have extra money to throw around to the work horses, or to the idea people, so really they’re just the money people .

More than likely you’re either an Idea Person or a Work Horse. If you’re a money person, email me, we gotta talk. In any case neither one is bad or good but neither one, by herself, gets the job done earning money from your own business.

Smart entrepreneurs seek out partners that compliment their gifts. So no matter which one you are, Work Horse, or Idea Person, find your other half. Find that other work at home mom, or dad, and partner up. You will be shocked at how much this motivates you to become more of what you’re not so that you can finally start earning a living from home and quit that J. O. B.

There are a few methods to find these people. You can visit the chat rooms, and discussion boards, you can post ads on craigslist, you can go to some meet ups, or chamber of commerce meetings. You can also think about joining some of the on line Members Only groups to find help you find a partner as well as learn some valuable and helpful information about starting your own business on-line. You should be really up front about your search for a partner because that is the only way you’ll discover him or her.

The important thing to do is when you’ve found someone you think would compliment your working style is to start small, pick one project, and partner for that one project, and always create a legal and binding contract stating exactly what each of you will do, and the compensation method and percentages to be shared. No need to create a separate business entity at this point, businesses from partnerships all the time, such as when a business partners up with Relay for Life, for instance. As long as everything is in writing and legal there should be no issues.

Even among friends, it is important to create written contracts because this will cut down on any disagreements and problems that might arise from your working together.
